Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling with Hand in Hand Therapy is simple. Families can reach out by phone, email, or through our contact form on the website to request an appointment. We’ll start with a brief conversation to learn about your child’s needs and answer any questions you may have. From there, we’ll guide you through the intake process, help with any paperwork, and schedule an initial evaluation. After the evaluation, we’ll review our recommendations with you and create a therapy plan tailored to your child.


It depends on how you plan to pay for services. If you are using insurance, most providers require a referral or prescription from your child’s doctor before beginning therapy. If you are paying privately (out of pocket), no referral is needed—you can contact us directly to schedule an evaluation. Either way, we’re happy to walk you through the process and let you know exactly what steps are required for your situation.


We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer the time slot to another family. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
